What is D.I.?Destination Imagination program (D.I.) teaches the creative process by allowing students to solve challenges together. The purpose of this program is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. D.I. aims to utilize diverse approaches in applying 21st century skills (creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, flexibility, persistence...). The areas of focus of the challenges incorporate science, technology, engineering, mathematics, visual arts and improvisation. Students have fun, build on their strengths, take risks and gain confidence in their ability to solve any challenge. For more info, please visit:

What is FedEx day?I decided to hold FedEx days in my classroom after reading Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us by Daniel Pink. The concept is simple. Students can work on any project they choose, however they want, with whomever they like. In advance, students plan their day and collect the materials they will need. Then, they have a whole school day to work on their project. The next day, students ‘deliver’ a presentation on their day (the process and product). The rules are: respect for the materials, respect for others, be productive, and speak French. The goal is to give them autonomy (which should motivate them) and the reward is the chance to share what they have created and learn along the way.
